Every hearing loss is as unique as the individual it's connected to. When it comes to something as important as your hearing, you deserve care from someone who takes a personal approach to treating your hearing loss. At Cumberland Hearing Aid Center, we are determined to find the hearing solution that's right for you.
We want to hear about your experiences and what you think about your hearing situation. Our role is to support you and help you make a decision about how to treat your hearing loss.
Choosing the right hearing aids starts with a conversation. In order to know what you need out of hearing aids, we have to understand where you're coming from. Hearing aids are personal, and they need to be the perfect fit for your lifestyle and the severity of your hearing loss. To narrow down what hearing aids we're going to recommend for you, we talk about:
We take a look at all the pieces of your life to decide which hearing aid would best fit you. We won't pressure you to spend more than you can afford, and we won't press more expensive technology on you than you need. We'll be honest with you if we think you would truly benefit from more advanced technology so you can decide what to do.
Cumberland Hearing Aid Center is an independent hearing aid practice. We carry the brands we believe will best serve our clients. Although we can fit and clean just about any major hearing aid manufacturer, we’ve changed which brands we focus on based on technological improvements. We work primarily with Signia because we love that they have two processors, one to manage your own voice and one to manage what you hear in the world around you. We also work with brands such as Starkey, who offers outstanding noise reduction.
The cost of hearing aids depends not on how large or small they are but on the level of technology inside them. More sophisticated technology comes with a higher price tag but works better in noisy environments, so it's perfect for people who are still active at work and socially engaged. We can go over the relative cost and power of each hearing aid to help you make a decision.
Hearing aid style is a matter of personal preference as well as what's best for your hearing loss. We tend to recommend receiver-in-canal (RIC) styles because they are comfortable, deliver excellent sound quality, and are more versatile. One big advantage of the RIC hearing aids is that we can upgrade the receiver if your hearing loss advances, so your hearing aids will grow with you and you won't need to buy a new pair as soon.
